Ferrari Tuning GuideFerrari was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 as Scuderia Ferrari, which initially sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars. It wasn’t until 1947 that the company, as Ferrari Società per Azioni (a joint stock company), produced its first street legal vehicles.

Enzo Ferrari withstood years of financial struggle before finally selling the company’s sports car division to the Fiat group in 1969 to ensure financial stability. Nonetheless, he retained control of the racing division until 1988, when he died at the age of 90. Throughout its history, Ferrari has earned a lofty reputation, not only for its racing but for its road models, which are some of the most revered and coveted vehicles in the world. The “Cavallino Rampante,” Ferrari’s iconic black prancing stallion, is instantly recognizable as a symbol of quality, craftsmanship, speed and power. Due to this heritage, not just anyone can set out to alter the appearance or performance of a Ferrari. However, there are some that don’t just dress up Ferraris in exciting new styles, they make them better.

The Ferrari F430’s chassis is heavily based on its predecessor, the 360, but the body has been redesigned to be more curvaceous and aerodynamic. It features a 4.3L V8 with an output of 483 horsepower @ 8,500 rpm and 343 lb.-ft. of torque @ 5,250 rpm. Options for the Novitec Sport Bi-compressor include a front lip spoiler or front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear wing, all offered in reinforced fiber glass or carbon fiber. Upgrades include a 380mm brake system, two-way adjustable coilover suspension with electronic feedback, stainless steel sport exhaust, exclusive center-locking or five-lug alloy wheels (19 inches in front and 20 inches at the rear), carbon fiber engine coverings, bi-compressor enhancements (that increase the F430’s horsepower to 636) and an optional carbon fiber airbox. Interior upgrades include seats and a sport steering wheel specifically designed for taller drivers, aluminum pedal set and footrest.

While most companies offer aero kits, edo Competition is all about performance. They’ve managed to extract 530 horsepower out of the F430 thanks to a sport catalytic converter and carbon fiber airbox. The F430 also gets a KW/edo racing chassis, revamped steering system, stainless steel rear silencer, and the loudness of the exhaust is adjustable at the touch of a button. Handling has been improved thanks to an active suspension. The F430 is also fitted with 20-inch sport wheels (color matched at request). The 599 comes in two flavors, depending on how deep your pockets are. The common edo 599 is lowered 40mm and is fitted with an edo/KW adjustable sport suspension. And, just like the F430, the loudness of the exhaust is adjustable. Customers can opt for the Level 1 “599 GTB” engine upgrade, which combines intake and exhaust work with ECU reprogramming to boost horsepower to 650. But, if you’ve got the cash, you can opt for the Level 2 “630 GTB” package, which includes a 6.3L FXX engine conversion, yielding an astonishing 750 horsepower!

Hamann wasn’t satisfied with just one package for the F430, and took it a step further with the “Black Miracle,” which is a stunner. The Hamann aerodynamic kit, which includes a front spoiler, rocker panel wings, rear diffuser and rear wing, looks amazing in contrasting bright orange and matte black. In addition, the Black Miracle has been exclusively fitted with wing doors. It also gets a 50-horsepower boost (to 533), specially designed springs and three-piece, forged, lightweight 20-inch “Edition Race” wheels in a staggered fitment. Then, there’s the Ferrari 599, which looks like an Italian Batmobile. Hamann went and fitted it with high-performance headers and racing catalytic converters for an extra 53 horsepower up to 673. Hamann then added a front spoiler, side sill panels, roof spoiler, rear wing, three-piece diffuser, sports rear muffler with 90mm tailpipes (providing a deeper exhaust note), and set of 21-inch “Edition Race” wheels. The interior includes black floor mats and extravagant leather upholstery available in whatever color a customer desires. Then, there’s the 612 Scaglietti, which gets a power upgrade (540 up from 533) through modified engine electronics as well as stainless steel exhaust system without flap regulation. Hamann lowers the center of gravity with a chassis spring assembly. The 612 also gets a front spoiler, side sills, rear integrated diffuser, rear spoiler, stainless steel coilover sport suspension and “Edition Race” wheels. Interior upgrades include aluminum pedal set with foot rest, and various colors for leather and Alcantara.

Fabulous is right. With this aero kit, the F430 looks like something befitting Darth Vader. Fabulous has fitted the F430 with a kit that is available in fiber-reinforced plastic or carbon fiber and includes a front spoiler (with front bumper, under spoiler and vent lining), side skirts, rear exhaust duct cover and rear wing. Handling is improved thanks to a suspension package, while a set of Detonatore Mesh wheels in a staggered fitment of 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear completes the look.

The concept behind T2-G’s aero kits is “Thrill to Glamour,” and the Japanese company has certainly dressed up the F430 in striking fashion. T2-G’s aero kit, available in fiber-reinforced plastic or carbon fiber, includes a distinctive front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear grille and carbon fiber accents. Meanwhile, T2-G’s Super Sound muffler controls the flow of the exhaust and provides a supreme exhaust note. To top it all off, T2-G equips the F430 with their own wheel, featuring slim and stylish spokes that enhance the silhouette of the brake calipers. These are offered in a staggered fitment of 19 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear.
